Illumination of public buildings throughout the country will also be arranged. Important government and private buildings, mosques and streets across the country are decorated with lights, green buntings, and banners welcoming the festive day.
Newspapers will bring out special issues, while the electronic media will air special programmes, highlighting the sanctity and significance of the day. The government has declared a public holiday on Tuesday and all the government and semi-government offices, bazaars and shopping malls will remain closed on the day.
A two-day international Seerat conference will be organised by the Ministry of Religious Affairs on this auspicious event at the Convention Centre. The theme of this year’s conference is "Universality of the Message of the Holy Prophet (SAW)".
